Texas Holdem Poker

If you want to play poker online, you’ll have to learn how to play No-limit Texas Hold’em. Fortunately the rules for Texas Hold’em are easy. There are four rounds of betting and you can bet as much as you want in each round. Here’s how a hand is played in Texas Hold’em

The Blinds and the Button
The blinds are blind bets that drive the action. If you’re playing $0.50/$1 No-limit Texas Hold’em, the small blind will be $0.50 and the big blind will be $1. These blinds are posted to the left of the button. The button is a great position to be in because you’ll be the last player to act in the hand and you’ll get to see what all the other players do. That’s a big advantage in Texas Hold’em

Pre-Flop
After the blinds are posted, all players are dealt two cards face down. These are your “hole cards.” The action starts with the player to the left of the big blind and each player can call, fold, or raise any amount that’s at least double the big blind.

The Flop
After the first round of betting is done, three cards are dealt face up in the center of the table. These cards are used with the two cards in your hand to make the best poker hand possible. Another round of betting begins.

The Turn
Next another card is dealt and another round of betting begins.
The River The river is the last card dealt. Now players decide what 5-card hand they can make using their two hole cards and the five cards on the flop. Players can use any combination of these 7 cards to make their 5-card hand. Now the final round of betting begins.

Once all the betting is done, the players show their hand and the best hand wins. It’s easy, huh?
